End of Year Round Up 2017

How is it possible that two years have gone by without an update? When we’ve been busy and crazy and excited and doing so many wonderful things??

Ah, time is but a fleeting thing, curvy friends! And we’ll just have to put this in the “better late than never” category! This is just a tiny, curvy sprinkling of what we’ve been up to! From Las Vegas, to California, to the great state of Texas, we’ve been sharing our beautiful harmonies with friends, old and new. We’ve shared the stage with talented friends and love our great home city of Las Vegas. From the National Anthem to the Dennis Bono Show, to corporate events to private parties (they flew us to Texas for the weekend!) what a fabulous time we’ve had together sharing our music, sharing our message of empowerment and love and growing as musicians and more importantly, a deepening friendship that only time and music can build. The smiles and hugs you see below are the real deal. Not sayin’ there ain’t been some tears and words! We are full of passion and emotion! But that’s the best part! Sometimes rehearsal is just that…rehearsal. And, sometimes, it’s therapy.  ❤

To finish off this year, we are THRILLED to say that we have been chosen not once but twice on the Women of Substance Podcast! Our first appearance is the first Holiday Podcast of the year. Podcast #702, date available, Friday November 24th.  Please listen and comment! We’d love that!! We’ll update the blog when the second podcast goes live.

What’s in store for 2018? Let’s just say, that it’s gonna be “jazzy”… dare we say “edgy”…and we’ve got a friend…not just any friend, but a talented, handsome believer-in-the-Curves type of friend! It’s not quite time for the announcement yet. Details are still being worked out! Check back soon, we’ll be updating you all in January.

May you enjoy a most wonderful Holiday season filled with joy and family and friends and most of all, beautiful music!

End of the Year, 2013!

We can hardly  believe it is already the end of  year, 2013! Did you have a wonderful holiday season? Ours was filled with song and joy for sure. We even received a fantastic review of our Christmas CD, “Star of Wonder”  from Don Grigware of Broadway World “Star of Wonder rings in the holidays with joy and mirth…no, harmonious ecstasy! – don grigware” (ok, totally wow!!!) and we are on his “Best of 2013” CD list! Check it out here!

We had Christmas performances for the Veterans and at Sam’s Town to absolutely wonderful audiences. In fact our year was filled with great shows with songs ranging in genre from Top 40 at The Aria for a corporate event to an Americana style Fourth of July Spectacular and a really unique conference NAB demonstrating new technology! We sang across our fair city from the South Point to the San Gennarro Feast to the Sun Coast receiving praise and warmth from our loving locals. We are so very grateful for the support and love of our family and friends!

In other CURVY news this month: Dangerous Curves will be performing 2 songs on the Dennis Bono Show next week, Thursday, Sept 6 at 2:00pm, and will also be among the “Celebrity Entertainment” on the main stage at the San Gennaro Feast on Sunday, Sept 16th. Check out our Curvy Calendar (HERE) for all the fun details!

Hot and Sunny in Vegas!

Mother Nature has clearly decided that this year, Spring is more a verb than a season! That’s ok, because the Curves are keepin’ their cool and sharing their music from one side of town all the way to Mesquite, Nevada!

Dangerous Curves with Tony Sacca and Musical Director, Dan Ellis

On Mother’s Day, you could find us out at the annual San Gennaro Feast at the Rio! The fabulous band was lead by our very own Musical Director Dan Ellis and the audience was absolutely amazing! We sang a few of Dangerous Curves most requested songs, Carole King’s  “Natural Woman”,  jazz classic “Cloudburst” and crowd favorite “I’m A Woman”.

This past weekend, we were the featured entertainment for a really fun corporate event!  The audiences were so much fun!  They absolutely loved our “Sentimental Journey, Radio Medley” and our “Judy Garland Medley”! And, you know what?  We love singing them, too! If you have never checked out our neighboring city of Mesquite, well then you should! We stayed at the Eureka Hotel and it was just great!  Very personable staff, clean, well appointed rooms, a pool and nice casino.  Karen even managed to win $45 on a penny slot machine! It’s just Curvy good luck!

Post Show Silliness in Mesquite!

We do have a MAJOR announcement coming…..maybe we could tell you just a little bit of it…..but then that would spoil the surprise, so……..guess you’ll just have to wait!  Check back soon! Like in 2 weeks!!!!

Head on over to our Facebook Page and be sure to “LIKE” us to hear about our upcoming shows and new music! And, as always, we are so grateful to have you in our curvy family and have the most curvalicious day possible!

Spring has Sprung in Las Vegas!

Friends of the Curves! It has been just a bit since you last heard from us. Not from lack of wanting to give you some Curvy love, we are just scheduled to the hilt!

Now, of course you know that it is really 3 curvy women who make up the Dangerous Curves. Three women who are not only blessed in their personal lives, but also their professional ones! Here are some fun tidbits about the girls…

Margaret (Gret) Menzies is a busy bee teaching, directing, and now one of the stars of Nunsense at the Las Vegas Hitlon! She also happens to married to one of the best pianists in town, Michael Gonzalez! Be sure to check out the newest and curviest “Sister” at the convent!

Karen Michaels is a Mommy, Blogger, teacher and a singer with the Special K Project! From attending school events to singing at events and weddings, she finds her writing time for her Mommy Blog and her cabaret show, in the wee hours when all are asleep! Thank goodness for all that curvy energy!

Lisa Smith is the busiest curves in town! She sings down at the Clarion with the amazing Shades of Sinatra, she has her own award -winning jazz trio and writes and performs with her amazing husband, Ron Smith!

The Curves are thrilled to be working on the next CD release for Christmas 2012. Yes, we are thinking of snowflakes and eggnog while catching a few Vegas sun rays!

We have already made appearances this month on The Dennis Bono Show, The Will Edwards Show and look for us on Mother’s Day at the San Gennaro Feast at the Rio!
